The Emsland Archaeology Museum and the Meppen City Museum are hosting a 24-hour marathon as part of the Long Night of the Emsland and Grafschaft Museums. The museums will open their doors at 12:00 a.m. and offer a diverse program throughout Saturday under the theme “Meppen by Day and Night.” From DJ sets to night watchman tours: the museum won’t be sitting still this Saturday. Kicking things off at midnight is the artist Juteux from Lingen with an electronic mix set featuring dub techno and driving house music. In the early morning hours, starting at 6 a.m., visitors can look forward to an invigorating yoga session with gong meditation led by Michael Matzke from michayoga. A coffee bar will be set up in the museum to keep everyone energized. Starting at 11 a.m., the “Art & Flea Market” opens in front of the museum. For children, there will be a craft workshop with cool party lights from 2 to 4 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Kunstkreis will offer a public guided tour of the light art exhibition by Charlotte Wielage at the Koppelschleuse Art Center. To round out the day, at 9:30 p.m., young and old alike can experience the museum after dark on a flashlight tour. Following that, starting at 11:00 p.m., the night watchman will lead a tour across the grounds and through the buildings, concluding the evening with a humorous guided tour. The event is part of the “Long Night of the Emsland and Grafschaft Museums.” Bus rides to individual venues will be available.
