A musical journey through the different eras in the museum’s garden and in the exhibition. Dance classes to some of the songs will accompany the program. Bring a blanket and snacks, picnic on the lawn by the museum and let the music take you back in time.

The Emsland Archaeology Museum is breaking new ground this summer: for the first time, there will be a music festival on the museum grounds; a special kind of festival, because it will be a musical journey through time. The musical weekend will kick off on Friday, July 4, from 6 pm, with a concert by the music group Nimmersêlich from Leipzig in the museum’s atrium. On Saturday, July 5, the ensemble will then perform on one of the stages in the garden of the archaeology museum and prove that medieval music can also be rousing and lively. A wide variety of bands, such as the band Törf from the Netherlands, will perform at different times on all stages from 2 p.m. on July 5. The Speellüe will march across the grounds drumming loudly, a Bronze Age Lurenbläser will make an appearance, there will be historical sea shanties, Irish folk and much more. Almost mystical Gregorian chants by candlelight conclude the evening in the museum.
