Experience history up close at “mercatum nostalgica”

This weekend, for the fourth time, the large meadow at the Koppelschleuse will be transformed into a lively marketplace of days gone by. Artisans and merchants from near and far will showcase their unique wares, demonstrate traditional techniques, and offer fascinating insights into long-forgotten ways of working. Dressed in historically inspired clothing, the exhibitors create an authentic atmosphere. At more than 30 booths, the offerings range from printmaking, spinning, weaving, and dyeing to blacksmithing, glass bead making, and gunsmithing, as well as Bronze Age fishing, historical medicine, and leatherworking. The selection is complemented by jam and herb specialties. A special highlight for children is the hand-powered carousel of the “Emspiraten” from Lingen. In addition, young visitors can have their faces painted, try out giant soap bubbles, and discover historical games. Live music and a fire show provide lively entertainment.

Admission: Adults $6, Children $4, Families $10

Time: 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
