Pottery course
for beginners and the curious, on 02. and November 09, 2024
Discover pottery without a wheel, with slab and body techniques
This course offers the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the material clay. Under guidance, a 1.60 / 1.80 meter high stele for the garden is to be created
On the first course date you will produce objects for the stele using the thumb plate technique. After a short introduction, you can give free rein to your creativity and create wonderful shapes.
On the second date, we will focus on surface design. The modulated elements of the stele are colored with engobes. The engobe is applied to the dried clay.
After the first firing at 950 degrees Celsius, the elements are coated with a transparent glaze and then fired for a second time in an electric kiln at 1150 degrees Celsius to make them frost-proof.
The finished items can be collected approx. 14 days later by arrangement.
