Dr. Jana Fries, Head of the Archaeology Division at the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, will speak about the history of gender studies in prehistoric archaeology and how modern stereotypes have long shaped our view of prehistory. Using archaeological examples, she will present current research and methods on gender roles, social structures, and power relations, painting a far more nuanced picture of the past.
