Film workshop with videographer Philipp Koch
What would a promotional film about Emsland look like if it were directed by Quentin Tarantino or narrated by the pirate Jack Sparrow? In the four-day film workshop, participants will both look at the history of the medium of film as a PR tool and become filmmakers themselves. The course consists of a mix of film history and theory and a practical part. Philipp Koch, videographer and filmmaker from Frankfurt, will use well-known film examples to explain the basics of film language (dramaturgy, editing, camera perspective) and with reference to the Emsland advertising films “Moordämmerung” and “Sechzig x Hundert – eine Emslandreportage”. The group then develops and shoots short scenes based on a storyboard. The participants actively shape the film! Finally, the film will be cut, edited and presented in the city museum. The workshop is aimed at anyone aged 16 and over who is interested in film and is intended to develop an understanding of the connections between film history and contemporary forms of expression as well as their own creativity. The course takes place both in the city museum and at various outdoor locations. No previous knowledge or equipment is required.
