This exhibition brings together the works of renowned artists Oleksii Gnievyshev, Lena Krashevka and Maxim Probst, who each reflect in a unique way on the connection between art, freedom and self-determination. Oleksii Gnievyshev, born in the Ukraine, combines classical painting techniques with contemporary themes and questions social norms and constraints through his works. Lena Krashevka, from Belarus, uses various media to highlight themes such as resistance, self-determination and feminist perspectives. Maxim Probst, born in 1981 in the former USSR, studied at the Alanus University of Art and Society in Alfter near Bonn under Prof. A. Orosz (Master of Fine Arts) and at the AKI/ArtEZ, Enschede/NL. The three artists come from different cultural backgrounds and bring their individual experiences of artistic expression, political freedom and social identity to this exhibition. The exhibition shows that art can act as a connecting element between artists across borders and origins.
