With a new program, the Festival of Lights at the Koppelschleuse offers a special aesthetic experience for the twelfth time.<\/p>\n
To celebrate the Festival of Lights, the Meppen Art Circle is presenting light art by Charlotte Wielage (D\u00fcsseldorf) at the Koppelschleuse Art Center. Students and instructors from the art school will use light objects and light art installations to decorate the path through the park at the Koppelschleuse. <\/p>\n
The Cologne-based trio Morley will perform in the beer garden of the Youth and Cultural Guesthouse.<\/p>\n
At 9:30 p.m., visitors can marvel at the spectacular fire show by Circus Lavawusch on the lawn in the park. A sizzling blend of expressive choreography and rich music gives rise to a mesmerizing dance with fire. With burning fans, sticks, ropes, poi, and torches, the audience is drawn into the spell of fire. Meanwhile, illuminated figures can be spotted throughout the park. In a blend of theater and circus featuring glowing props, the performers move across the ground and on stilts. <\/p>\n
The highlight of the Festival of Lights is the lighting display at the Koppelschleuse, which will be organized this year by the Meppen Open-Air Theater. The stage\u2019s lighting designers will illuminate the Youth and Cultural Guest House as well as the Art Center, the park, and the sculptures created by art students. The museums at the Koppelschleuse will also be open, featuring atmospheric lighting. <\/p>\n
The food and beverage service will be open until 10 p.m. at the caf\u00e9 at the Koppelschleuse and the youth hostel’s beer garden.<\/p>\n
