At a time of great change and rapid infrastructural development, she was committed to the protection of many endangered archaeological monuments in Emsland. With few resources and in a strongly male-dominated (specialist) world, she campaigned for archaeology, which at the time still received little recognition in the region. With her work, she created a space for the lost culture and customs of the Emsland.
